NEOM Organics Candle

So I love candles, for someone that doesn't find it very easy to relax I think they are great for this. I partly blame my flat mates and for having an unpleasant University flat for my addiction. I have collected many over time, including Diptyque, Jo Malone, and lots from Anthropologie. There is nothing better especially on a rainy autumn day than lighting a candle whilst you do your work or wind down for the night.

I have been on the search for a candle that smells nice, not like vanilla or cupcakes and that burns for a long time, and is not overly expensive.

Neom Organics candles are 100% natural fragrances. Their large 3 wick candles cost £45 but you can get 15% off your first order. I think the price is decent for such large candles that smell great. I got the candle in the fragrance Real Luxury. I was slightly hesitant of the lavender notes in this candle as I hate lavender scents but it is actually quite mellow and nice. The other notes are jasmine, a personal favourite of mine, and Brazilian rosewood.

They come beautifully packaged with a little booklet about the scents. I have been burning it for a few weeks now, it burns well and the fragrance is strong enough to fill a room.

I would highly recommend them for any candle lovers and they would make amazing gifts. I am now definitely interested to try their other products like the body oils because of their natural ethos and they smell great!

TV Shows To Make You Feel Better

So sort of random but thought I'd make a post on the best TV to watch when you feel crappy. None of these are highbrow or particularly well made but that's not what this little list is about.

  1. Friends - this series will never fail to comfort you I think, your probably know it off by heart and thats comforting enough.
  2. Gilmore Girls - this is the best feel good, witty and fun show, I wish Lorelai was my Mum/best friend sometimes.
  3. The Mindy Project - Mindy Kaling never fails to put me in a better mood. She's quirky and has great one liners every girl can relate to.
  4. The B In Apartment 23 - Yes it got cancelled (annoyingly) but Krysten Ritter should be my best friend (as well as the others above) it's short, cute, and funny.
  5. Young and Hungry - A new show, it's awfully cheesy and pretty lame but when your feeling crappy it's a nice short show to take your mind off of things.
  6. Sex And The City - pretty self explanatory but it is a classic.

I haven't linked to any of these but you can find most on Netflix and iTunes, and other places…

Enjoy x

Life Through The Lens

Life lately through an Instagram filter…or not.

1) This week I made a pretty badass, mood board, pin board thing. I used bits from Poter Magazine which I love, and other postcards and disposable camera pictures I had lying about.

2) The weather this week has been pretty strange. There were crazy electrical storms in London and the South, and one minute it was boiling and the next raining. I opted for Breton striped tee and Topshop matte blue nail polish.

3) I mean I am cool…You can never pass up watching Parent Trap. I have said it so many times but I just really want to live in a Nancy Meyers movie, please…

4) Kinda strange one as I am not four years old. Been doing a bit of ballet again lately. It is great exercise and creates beautiful long lean muscles, yes I sound weird. I highly recommend checking out Mary Helen Bowers Ballet Beautiful it's ballet inspired workout and you can do it at home. Also check out her Instagram it will convince you to try it so you can look as elegant and poised (hopefully) as her.

Kawaii Package

Got a lovely package from Matches Fashion today. And I mean lovely in every sense of the word, the product inside being super cute but the box and all of the packaging was beautiful!

The box was a lovely marbled colourful box so pretty I want to find somewhere to put it in my room.
Inside the box was a great jumper I managed to grab in the sale, it's by Etre Cecile which is an awesome brand. It is in the sale down from 115 pounds to 34! So go get it!

Looks cute with my matte Topshop Nails in Blue Blood.

Whatever On The Web

Just some articles and web links that I have been loving lately to browse, watch and look at!

I have been loving reading this months The Edit from  Net-A-Porter I am also obsessed with the 90's and anything about 90's supermodels gets my vote. Also may have convinced me to buy PRRTY PEAUSHUN

Obsessed with Giambattista Valli Fall Haute Couture show. Makes me happy about fashion again. The last three gowns are spectacular. View the outfits online at Vogue, just do it, right now.

The weather in England is pretty odd at the moment, but because it is summer, this article from Harpers Bazaar on Beer Gardens is great for anyone in London. Now you know what to do this weekend.

I am obsessed with anything thats going to give me flawless natural skin so this blog post from Vivianna Does Makeup is great. I think for anyone that is pale that getting a beautiful even complexion is the best thing in terms of make-up.

Last this quote from HBO Girls that I tweeted because it is so true.

Sunday Styling - Palazzo Pants

I read in a magazine recently that Palazzo Pants are perfect for every woman because they flatter most body shapes. Well the best tips I can give are firstly to make sure they fit well, not too tight round the waist and that the length just skims above your toes (you might have to alter them).

Mine are from Asos, I like the material and fit, although kinda wish they had pockets in the front.

They are seriously comfy for summer.
Striped top - vintage shop
Bag - Zadig & Voltaire
HatTopshop

I wanted to try and style it super casually because I didn't just want to be able to wear these in the summer and that be that.

Trousers still ASOS
Gold Hoops - Vintage
Old beaten up Trainers - could just wear white Converse.
WatchMichael Kors

I had bought them for a summer party where I wore them with wedges which they are perfect with good alternative for people that don't like dresses.

TopTopshop love the scuba thick fabric of this.
Leather Clutch BagOn sale at Cos
Wedges - Old Topshop ones

For my make-up I used some Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser which is my favourite for natural skin.
I used some Loreal Telescopic Mascara, a Charlotte Tilbury lipliner in Iconic Nude and on my lids a bit of MAC eyeshadow in the colour Texture. Texture is a great shade for hazel and brown eyes. For make-up at the moment I'm really loving a 90's inspired natural brown look, a wash of eye shadow on the lids and brown toned nude lipliner. It's quite relaxed and natural.

In My Ears

Summer is here so you need some music to go along with it right…? Not too keen just plugging in to Ariana Grande all the time (don't get me wrong there are definitely times when that music is called for I mean Fancy by Iggy is my jam…). I put together a playlist perfect for the beach or you know, your tiny patch of ground in London.

Wild Belle are insanely awesome..especially for summer I listened to them with the windows down all last summer.

I also quite like San Cisco at the moment a little band from Australia, their song Beach is perfect for well the beach I guess or like laying on the tarmac if thats all you've got to work with.

MO does an amazing cover of the Spice Girls for a bit of 90's nostalgia, I've heard the 90's are in right?

Jagwar Ma are pretty chilled, again from Aus I think it's pretty good summer music to plug in and you don't look like your following the crowd you know.

So take a listen and follow me on Spotify

Life Through The Lens

Life lately through an Instagram filter….

Henley Regatta - was great because the sun was shining all day, although a bit too hot at times. Got my outfit snapped by Grazia which was fun as they had Revlon there to do make-up. The actual rowing was pretty boring…

Pretty roses in Hampstead Heath. The houses on the road to the heath had the most amazing flowers I have ever seen, not bad for North London and a nice little bit of summer.

Learning lines on a train..with leather as always. The not so glamorous side of acting, or glamourous however you dress it, as I did with leather bag and vintage biker jacket.

Distressed denim on a summer day. Ripped boyfriend jeans, comfy and cool. I'm not a massive fan of skirts and dresses so boyfriend jeans when it's hot are a pretty good thing to wear!

Things On My To Buy List

1. First on my list is pretty much anything from For Love & Lemons. A lot of bloggers have been talking about it at the moment but I especially like the crop tops and think they could be great for any season

2. Second, after seeing pictures of Kendall Jenner (massive style crush) wearing some powder blue loafers in Paris I have wanted to get my hands on some loafers. I really like how she wore them with skinny jeans but think they could dress up some silk joggers or boyfriend jeans. Sources say her are from H&M premium range but I can't find them on the website, but I did find some amazing Office powder blue ones! I feel like come Autumn loafers are going to be huge, plus they are also pretty practical, I mean you can't wear Birkenstocks in winter...

3. I want to try some more products from Aesop. I'm thinking their Mandarin facial moisturiser seeing as I don't have much luck with moisturisers generally.

Skincare Part I

These are my skincare picks for summer... or any other month really. My skin is generally combination, but I do get breakouts on my forehead and chin.Because I'm so pale breakouts and the redness can be a bit of a problem for me. I change my skincare products frequently, especially moisturisers (hence why I haven't included any)so for now this is what I'm using and my thoughts.

The quick rundown is:

Aesop Parsley Seed cleanser, this is the first Aesop product I have used and I love it. The smell is a little off putting as it has a very strong herbal aroma(think Liz Earl but stronger). However the product is great, and I think I have seen an improvement in my skin whilst using it, with less breakouts. I would recommend it for people with oily and combination skin. I personally think it would be too drying for those with a dry skin type.

I have used the Loreal Micellar Water for a while now. I read some bloggers reviews that thought it was too drying. For me it is fine, and works amazingly at taking off make-up, including mascara. I think it is a great dupe for Bioderma and the plus is it's widely available in the UK in Boots.

I'm still not one hundred percent sold on the beauty elixir. I agree with some reviewers who are disappointed to find alcohol in the ingredients for a product that is so expensive. Again this has a strong smell of herbs, which is slightly more pleasant than Aesop. I think this works ok as a toner, to spray on skin after cleansing but I wouldn't use it everyday as I think it could be pretty drying.

The Eve Lom Dynaspot is amazing! In the past I have tried out La Roche Posay spot cream but found it did very little (might just be my skin). The Eve Lom cream is fantastic at drying out and reducing redness of spots. I put it on any breakouts before bed and in the morning they look so much better. It is quite pricey but well worth it.
